Description

Our client, a respected firm in Orlando, is seeking an Employment Lawyer with 5+ years of experience to join its growing employment and labour law practice. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong experience in employment law, wrongful dismissal matters, workplace investigations, employment agreements, human rights and discrimination issues, workplace policies, restrictive covenants, and employer-side advisory work.

The successful candidate will advise a broad range of employers, organizations, and business clients on workplace issues, employment disputes, risk management, compliance matters, and day-to-day advisory work. This role is well suited to a lawyer who is confident managing files independently, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering practical, business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced private practice environment.

Responsibilities
  • Advise employers on a broad range of employment law matters, including terminations, wrongful dismissal issues, workplace investigations, accommodation matters, and workplace policy development
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, executive contracts, termination packages, workplace policies, and restrictive covenant provisions
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, mediations, hearings, investigations, and negotiated dispute resolutions
  • Provide strategic legal advice on employment risk management, workplace compliance, employee relations, and labour-related issues
  • Support business clients with practical guidance on sensitive workplace and employee matters
  • Manage files from intake through resolution, including deadlines, client communication, legal research, reporting, and coordination with internal or external stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Called to the Bar in Florida and in good standing with the applicable law society or bar association
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing in employment law and related workplace matters
  • Strong drafting and advisory experience with employment agreements, workplace policies, and termination-related documents
  • Experience handling employment disputes, workplace investigations, wrongful dismissal matters, and employer-side advisory work
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and client management skills

Experience

5+ years of relevant experience in employment law, including experience with workplace advisory work, employment agreements, wrongful dismissal matters, investigations, and employment-related disputes.

Education

J.D. or LL.B.
Called to the Bar in Florida and in good standing with the applicable law society or bar association
