
Our client, a respected firm in Montreal, is seeking an Employment Lawyer with 8+ years of experience to join its growing labour and employment law practice. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong experience in employment law, workplace advisory matters, employment agreements, terminations, wrongful dismissal claims, human rights issues, workplace investigations, labour standards compliance, and employer-side dispute resolution.
The successful candidate will advise a broad range of employers, executives, business owners, HR professionals, and institutional clients on transactional, operational, and strategic workplace legal matters. This role is well suited to a lawyer who is confident managing sophisticated files, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering practical, business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced private practice environment.
- Advise clients on a broad range of employment law matters, including employment agreements, workplace policies, terminations, disciplinary matters, labour standards, and human rights issues
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, executive compensation arrangements, termination packages, workplace policies, confidentiality agreements, and restrictive covenant documentation
- Provide strategic legal advice on dismissals, workplace investigations, accommodation issues, human rights claims, harassment matters, and day-to-day employer-side workplace issues
- Represent clients in employment-related disputes, negotiations, mediations, and proceedings before relevant administrative tribunals or courts
- Support clients with risk management, compliance, workplace restructuring, employee relations strategy, and organizational change matters
- Manage files from opening through closing, including timelines, client communication, legal drafting, negotiation strategy, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with business owners, executives, HR teams, and other legal professionals on complex employment and workplace matters
- Called to the Bar in Quebec and in good standing with the Barreau du Québec
- Minimum 8 years of experience practicing in employment law, labour law, workplace law, or related litigation and advisory matters
- Strong drafting and negotiation experience with employment agreements, workplace policies, severance arrangements, and dispute resolution documentation
- Experience advising on terminations, human rights issues, investigations, workplace compliance, employment standards, and employer-side disputes
- Excellent communication, judgment, and client management skills
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset
