Our client, a respected firm in Mississauga, is seeking a Corporate Commercial Lawyer with 6+ years of experience to join its established corporate and commercial law group. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong experience in commercial transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, business acquisitions, corporate structuring, shareholder matters, and ongoing commercial advisory work.
The successful candidate will advise a range of private companies, owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, and commercial clients on transactional and operational matters. This role is well suited to a lawyer who is comfortable handling sophisticated files, managing client relationships, and delivering practical legal advice across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.
- Advise clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial law matters, including business structuring, reorganizations, governance, and commercial risk
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, service agreements, and supply contracts
- Lead and support share and asset purchase transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and related due diligence processes
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to business owners, corporations, and commercial clients on operational and strategic matters
- Manage files from opening through closing, including timelines, client communication, documentation, and coordination with external advisors
- Work collaboratively with internal teams on transactional, commercial, and business law matters
- Called to the Bar in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum 6 years of experience practicing in corporate and commercial law
- Strong drafting and negotiation experience with a broad range of commercial agreements and transactional documents
- Demonstrated experience handling acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, commercial transactions, and general advisory work
- Excellent communication, client management, and file handling skills
