Description

Our client, a well-established firm in Vancouver, is seeking a Litigation Lawyer with 5+ years of experience to join its growing litigation and dispute resolution practice. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong experience in commercial litigation, civil litigation, contract disputes, shareholder disputes, construction disputes, injunctions, debt recovery, and general dispute resolution matters.

The successful candidate will work on a broad range of litigation and contentious matters, advising businesses, private clients, and institutional clients through all stages of the dispute process. This role is best suited to a lawyer who is confident managing files, developing litigation strategy, drafting strong advocacy materials, and delivering practical legal advice in a fast-paced private practice environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a broad range of civil and commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, shareholder disputes, collections, and general commercial conflicts
  • Draft and argue pleadings, applications, motions, affidavits, mediation briefs, settlement materials, and other litigation documents
  • Represent clients in mediations, discoveries, arbitrations, court appearances, and settlement negotiations
  • Provide strategic legal advice on dispute resolution, litigation risk, file strategy, and potential outcomes
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written advocacy materials to support active litigation files
  • Maintain file carriage from intake through resolution, including deadlines, client communication, reporting, and coordination with experts or external parties
Qualifications
  • Called to the Bar in British Columbia and in good standing with the applicable law society
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing in litigation and dispute resolution
  • Strong drafting, advocacy, and file management skills across a range of civil and commercial litigation matters
  • Experience handling court materials, mediations, discoveries, motions, and negotiated resolutions
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and client service skills
