Description

Our client, a well-established firm in Mississauga, is seeking a Corporate Lawyer with 5+ years of experience to join its growing corporate and commercial law practice. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer with strong experience in corporate transactions, commercial agreements, business acquisitions, share and asset purchases, incorporations, reorganizations, and general corporate advisory work.

The successful candidate will work with a broad range of business clients and owner-managed companies, advising on day-to-day corporate matters, transactional work, governance issues, and commercial contracts. This role is well suited to a lawyer who is confident managing files, maintaining client relationships, and delivering practical legal advice in a fast-paced private practice environment.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial law matters, including incorporations, reorganizations, and ongoing corporate maintenance
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including shareholder agreements, purchase agreements, service agreements, and other business contracts
  • Lead and support share and asset purchase transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and related due diligence processes
  • Provide strategic legal advice to owner-managed businesses, private companies, and entrepreneurs
  • Handle file management from intake through closing, ensuring deadlines, documentation, and client communication are managed effectively
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external advisors on transactional and corporate matters
Qualifications
  • Called to the Bar in Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing in corporate and commercial law
  • Strong drafting and negotiation experience with commercial agreements and transactional documents
  • Experience handling acquisitions, reorganizations, incorporations, and general corporate advisory matters
  • Excellent client service, communication, and file management skills
